I believe passionately in Art Therapy and its ability to help people. I have extensive experience and expertise working with adults suffering from a wide range of mental health and psychological difficulties. For 19 years I worked as an Art Therapist for the NHS in Adult Mental Health and now have a private practice in Nailsworth near Stroud. I have run many Art Therapy groups throughout my career.
Since 2006 I have been working privately and developing Art Works Space. Some of my clients have experienced significant abuse or early childhood trauma; others are looking to improve their self-esteem in order to find a more fulfilling life style.
Many of my previous clients were significantly disabled by their difficulties, including Abuse, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Psychosis.
I offer long-term in depth work and short-term focused work.
My practice is situated in peaceful surroundings with ample parking five minutes walk from the centre of Nailsworth. Regular bus services run to Stroud and Gloucester, which have main-line railway stations.
My approach is eclectic taking into account a person's present circumstances and significant early life experiences. I believe that the creative side of Art Therapy is especially important as a healing experience for clients. I am non-directive in the sessions, offering a gentle reflective presence.
I may be contacted for talks, supervision and as a facilitator for groups elsewhere.
I am a BAAT Approved Private Practitioner and Supervisor. See www.baat.org
